Before beginning your installation, you must assemble the Lazerlite . This assembly only takes a few minutes to complete, and will be well worth the time. Once completed, the installation of the Lazerlite tonneau cover is a pretty easy task and requires no drilling at all, so there is no need to bring out the power tools on this one! It usually takes about 20-30 minutes to install, and will add a completely new stylish look to your vehicle.
Only 1 Simple House Tool Is Required!
- 7/16 Socket or Wrench
Let’s Get Started!

Depending on which vehicle you have, each installation will vary somewhat but will still consist of the same basic requirements. The first step that is required is to attach the plate with the bolts onto the 4 brackets (this just helps make things go a little smoother). Once you have those together you will start at the front of the bed (near the cab). If you have a track system, you will want to slide in your brackets and line them up to where the edge of the main bracket is at the edge of the track system. Once you have them in the correct spot, you will take your 7/16 ratchet or wrench and tighten them down! After you’ve finished tightening down the brackets in the front of the bed, it’s time to move to the front. It will be pretty much the same to install these two brackets. First slide your plates into the track system and then take you bracket (making sure that the flat part is at the top and the ball stud is at the bottom facing towards the cab but don’t tighten them down yet!
The next step to installing your Lazerlite tonneau cover is to finish the latching system. You will take the “L” bracket and slide it over to where it is in the center of the latch (make sure the latch is closed while you’re doing this).
Once you have it in this position you will first tighten up the latch first and then finish by tightening up the bracket. Once you have ever thing tighten and correctly installed you’re down to the very last step! The last thing to do is push the hydraulic cylinder onto the ball stud and then lift up your tonneau cover just enough to fasten the other end of the hydraulic cylinder to the “L” bracket and you’re done!
